Custom Order Tiny Shoe Boxes

I finished my custom order yesterday for Surie in Canada. I`m so excited to have finished this as its my first international sale!
I`m really trying to work hard to make a little business for myself, but in the craft world there is such a lot of competition.

I`ve be looking at craft fairs as a way of boosting business a bit further but have to build my stock a bit more, and get some business cards and flyers done too.

Tiny Baby Shoe Box and other cards....

Here is one of my latest creations.... The Tiny Baby Shoe Box.... I created this a cute keepsake or baby shower favour. When I saw the card in the craft shop I knew it would be perfect for making into these little boxes.

The tiny shoe was created and designed by me using a template I also created. I used a pinky/peachy pearlised card embossed with tiny butterflies to create the shoe. I made the tiny polymer clay roses to sit on the front of the shoes then added a pink gingham ribbon bow to finish.

I`ve just finished a custom order for 6 of the boxes - 3 in mint green like the one in the picture and 3 in baby pink with co ordinating ribbon.

Next is my butterfly card made for a friends birthday. I cut out the butterfly shape in pink felt and sewed pearl pink sequins around the edge. I created the butterfly body out of tiny coloured beads and wire. I`d also like to show you my corset card. I really enjoy making these using Kate Knight papers in pink/black/white and beige colours.

Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning!!!!

Hello everyone, Im back, haven`t posted for quite a while cos I have been really busy.
Anyway I wanted to mention Macmillan Cancer Supports flagship event- "Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning - 26th September 2008." Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and maybe even a yummy cupcake and support a great charity!
Last year over 50,000 people held a coffee morning and raised 7.5 million.
It's as easy as putting the kettle on!
Simply get friends, family or colleagues together. At home, at work, at school, at a parent and toddler group – anywhere you like, and ask them to make a donation for the coffee they drink and the cake they eat. What could be easier?

Your pack will include balloons, collection boxes, stickers, and a chance to win a shopping spree at John Lewis!

Why not use the coffee morning as chance to sell your handmade cards and goodies and donate a % to Macmillan Cancer Support!

Mermaids

Well today I decided to create my "Dolly Mermaid." I had the idea last night and managed to design my templates and create my sweet mermaids. I`m planning on framing some up and also using the design on greetings cards. My first attempt made me change the design slightly as I used sequins to create scales but they took ages to sew on and I wasnt that happy with the result.
I`ll try to post pics tommorrow!
I just adore sequins they have so many uses and create such great effects!

27 Dresses

Well today was another exhausting day. My boyfriend and I went to see 27 Dresses at the cinema this morning which I really enjoyed. It gave me some inspiration for sewing some minature dresses for my cards.
Then I went to see my Mam and she had bought me some crafty items, one of the bags contained loads of sequins which are my favourite crafting item. I also got loads of coloured matchsticks which are so lovely and some minature quilled hearts and flowers. My Mam is so kind! She also saved me a newspaper cutting of a sewing class that is starting soon and some info on a lady named Charlotte Liddle http://charlotteliddle.co.uk who has a fab book out called stitch and sparkle which I going to have to get.

Sugarcraft and the garden.

Well I haven`t managed any crafting today due to working on the front garden with my lovely boyfriend. We have done a lot of digging and carrying!! We are both totally worn out now and still havent finished! I didn`t think it would take this long!!!!!

I did manage to watch a few bits from my sugarcraft dvd collection. Its quite dated but the techniques used are really good. I wasn`t aware that it took so long to marzipan and ice a cake! I`m really wanting to have a go at making the sugar flowers - just need to get some cutters and tools but they are quite expensive!!!!! I had a quick go at making some flowers out of Fimo yesterday which I`m pleased with. I also made a strawberries and ladybird frame which was a custom order from my sister for her friend. I`ll post some pics later.

I`m looking foward to watching a DVD in bed and a nice early night.

Sugar Craft DVDs and Dolly

I was so excited this morning when delivery man brought me my Sugar Craft DVD collection. I plan to sit down later and watch one of the dvds on sugar flowers. I`m hoping to get into cake decorating, the first cake I plan to make is for my Sister`s birthday, I can`t decide whether to make a fairy castle or a handbag?????

I`d like to also introduce "Dolly." Dolly is my own original creation, I hold the copyright for the design and currently have some Dolly items for sale on Etsy www.princesspoppypops@etsy.com
I really enjoy making my Dolly items and working with one of my favourite craft items - sequins! I love sequins in all colours although I have found the best sequins at cartwrights in US.

At the moment I have made Dolly cards and frames, and am working on ideas to expand my range and maybe even approach a few gift stores if I can pluck up the courage!!!
Please respect my work and don`t copy my designs as I work hard to create all my items.

Just before I go I just wanted to give a mention to a fab Etsian and craft forum member Georgina of www.georgebee@etsy.com , her painted nails are fantastic and very reasonable!
